Vintage Thingie Thursday

This has been a very exciting week for me! Do you want to know why????

This is why!!!

For the first time in over three months I was able to go into a thrift store!

And more importantly, I found a few treasures while I was there.

I found this sweet blue and white cup and saucer. I can't remember the name of this style, and there was no markings, but you've seen these before. I've seen them in blue, green and I think red.

And these little gems were begging to come home with me.

Autumn's Delight by Johnson Brothers. There were more saucers, but only the three cups, so they will have to do until I can find one more, hopefully to match.

Yes it was a fun time for me to step back through the GW gates. And as always, it's fun to find some treasures.

Please join Coloradolady for more Vintage Thingies.

I think the cup and saucer is a Currier & Ives by Royal China. My Mom had some. Someone told me you used to get them as premiums from grocery stores.

You found some goodies today. I have mama's Currier and Ives china also in blue. The scenes are different on each of the plates, cups, teapot etc. There is also a fictional book of 4 short stories for Christmas based on the different scenes on the china. Hope you will find one more cup in the Johnson Bros. too!

I found out they are building a Goodwill Outlet about a block from where I work ~ I'm so excited I can barely see straight. I don't know how, but I'm going to figure out a way to go during my lunch hour!!

I don't collect china, but I have been looking for a nice cup and saucer to use for tea. I like both of your patterns.

When I saw you over at Vtt I had to stop by to see the beautiful china you found. I love the pretty colors of thr fruit patterned cups and saucers, I have lots of mix and match in the same colors. There are lots of patterns you can find to compliment those. Different makers, but all the same colors of browns with yellow, pinks etc. Great finds, tami

I love the Currier & Ives by Royal. I have a service for 25. Picked up most of the pieces at yardsales, thrift stores and auctions. The only piece I am missing is the covered casserole. To pricey in the retail market I will have to wait til I can thrift it. Thanks for sharing. ~~Sherry~~

Great sleuthing!! Love Goodwill. The teacups are a great find.
We are so pleased that you have come to share your tea treasures with our friends, on Tuesday. Your sister must have felt loved at her birthday.
Looking forward to seeing another tea treasure next week.

Great finds! I love Goodwill! I have a hard time buying anything new from a retail store when there are so many cool things to be found at thrift stores. :-)
