Windsor Fruit

Windsor Fruit by Johnson Brothers England was produced from 1956 to 1965. My hubby gave me a complete set of these dishes a few years ago. Lovely to set for this time of year.

Hamner Fire Tower

Fire Tower still stands, but forests long gone.

The 85' Hamner Fire Tower on Fletcher Avenue was built in 1936 and has been designated a landmark under Hillsborough county's historic preservation program (ELAPP). The tower is a remnant of  when the area was more rural. The tower was saved from demolition in 1993 when county commissioners voted to purchase the 8.7 acres surrounding property from the state. The small parcel was turned into a urban wildlife preserve.

Setting the stage

I enjoy changing the china in my hutch.  Every season speaks a different theme.  Fall is in the air, even if our temps are still in the 80's, the mood still speaks Fall.

I love to display my Friendly Village China from now until Thanksgiving.

I only have one Pomona tea cup.  The brilliance of colors radiates the change in the season.

I was so thrilled when I found this old tool box last year.  It has graced my dining room table all summer and now is dressed for Fall.

Yes, the room is evolving.  The warm glow of Autumn sets the stage for the season to come.

A hint of Fall

Refreshing my table with just a hint of Fall.

I love how the china, silverware and glassware all echo the same swirly pattern.

The tea cart is on the ready for hot tea or coffee.

It's already the middle of September. Can Christmas be far behind??

Christmas at Spruce Hill Farm

Christmas at Spruce Hill Farm is a touching story about second chances.

Lucy Gable is the assistant to best selling Romance author Brynn Dixon. The book tour she has planned is going well until storms hit and they end up going to Spruce Hill farm early. Giving Brynn days to recover from burn out. But surprises and secrets come to light as they meet Caleb, David and Grace.

These characters are a great combination to put you in the Christmas spirit. Kathryn Springer is a well crafted author. This inspirational story is about the power of love and hope and taking risks. The perfect Christmas novel to put you in the holiday spirit.

I received a complimentary an e-copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own

Reflected Blue Skies

We were so blessed to have Idalia by pass our area. Lots of rain and wind, but thankfully no property damage. Prayers for those who have had it much worse just west of us. Tarpon Springs up into the pan handle having much flooding.

Take time to relax

I wanted to have a little place to escape to read, enjoy tea or lunch or just watch the birds as they come and go from the feeder.

My original thought was to find some pretty white wicker furniture. When I found this set at Home Depot, I knew it would be perfect for our little nook.

A little note about these luncheon napkins. My step-mother gave these to me, along with a matching tablecloth. The tablecloth was used til it became thread bare and badly stained, but I never used the napkins. They were a wedding gift, so they are probably considered vintage by now ;-)

I've been picking up these Boopie glasses at Goodwill when I find them for $1.00

Most days you can find me out here with a good book and cup of  tea or a glass of lemonade.

Hello September

Can you believe Fall is on the way? Although we don't have the change of seasons like up north, the days will be a bit cooler as we anticipate the coming holidays. Can Christmas be far behind?
