Carrot Cake

It seems a lot of people like Carrot Cake.  After I shared this picture last week -

there were several comments about the cake.  My friend makes one of the best Carrot Cake recipes, so what better time to share it!

Carrot Cake

2 Cups All purpose Flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons bakeing ppowder
 1 1/2 cups Oil
3 cups grated carrots
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 cups sugar
1 /2 cup walnuts (chopped)
4 eggs

Grease and flour three round 9" pans.  Sift dry ingredients.  Add all other ingredients except eggs.  Add eggs one at a time.  Mix well.

Bake 350 degrees for 30 minutes.  Cool 5 or so minutes before removing from pan.  Cool completely before icing.

1 8 oz pkg cream cheese
1 box confectioners sugar
1/2 stick butter
2 teaspoons vanilla

Cream cream cheese and butter together.  Add sugar and vanilla.  Ice cake and top with chopped nuts.

“He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our sins; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”  Isaiah 53:5

This weekend is the time Christians celebrate the Risen Savior. If it was not for the sacrifice Jesus made, we would be dead to our sin, eternally. Jesus paid the price we could not pay, for the debt that we owed.

We have all sinned, since we have all done wrong things. But God made a way for us to be forgiven so we can have eternal life in Heaven. We must recognize our sinfulness and accept that Jesus paid the penalty for our sin when he died on the cross and rose again from the grave.

"For God so loved the world, that He gave his only Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

It's a free gift..........Have a blessed Easter

Butterflys and Blooms

Spring is the time for Butterflys and Blooms.  With Easter so early this year, I'm setting my table right for the season.

Start with vintage linens and wedding silverware.

Azalea Shower

I love this time of year, when the days are drifting into more daylight hours, and the flowers start their magnificent show of colors.

And then the afternoon sun captures their pure radiance.

On St Patricks Day........

.......... everyone is a little bit Irish.

I don't have much in the way of green china, but this is my rendering of a tea for St Patrick's Day.

This Heathcote teacup has the lightest green shading.

The closest Shamrock table linen I had.

Waiting for some delicious scones to come out of the oven.

And of course we will enjoy some Green Tea :-)

Erin go Bragh!

Pink Saturday

One evening, as I was walking in my neighborhood, this gorgeous pink sky captured my attention.

I was so glad I had enough time to grab my camera before this pink goodness drifted out of sight..

Tea for One

Some days, it is nice to just treat yourself to a cup of tea, especially when the weather is a bit brisk.  Join me today as I enjoy a cup of Herbal tea.

My teacup lost it's saucer, so I paired it with an orphan Shelley saucer.

I found a selection of these lovely plates at the thrift store.  They are Faberware "Blossoms" and I just love the delicate spray of roses.

Tea Pot is David Michael China for Staffordshire (Made in England) and the cream pitcher is St George Fine Bone China (Made in England).
Do you have a favorite Herbal Tea??  I love True Blueberry.

Won't you join me visiting these parties?

Sunlit Sunday

Yes, this is my next project.  We've experienced our last bit of cold, so the plants are going into the ground next week.

Relax, throw open the windows of our stuffy little souls and let the cooling breezes of a better world sweep through! What will all our petty worries amount to fifty years from now? Rejoice in the old simplicities which no man can take away—like spring and green woods and mocking-birds. And, better still, rest our souls in the goodness of God and His amazing grace. –V. Havner

"May my meditation be pleasing to him, for I rejoice in the LORD." Psalm 104:34
