NoDeposit, No Return

Do you remember that crazy movie?? It's a movie with Don Knotts involving some of his antics. Or do you just think about the days when a bottle of soda (pop) required a nickel deposit, and when you returned the bottle, you got your nickel back?

Well, I really enjoy reading everyone's comments on my blog. But sometimes there is a little problem. You see, when you leave a comment on my blog, I would really love to be able to send a reply. Sometimes when I try to reply, I can't send you a message back because there is no where to send it. Do you know if you are leaving a no-reply message?

I would love to be able to chat with you. So here is how to do it (on Blogger) if you don't know how:

•first, go to your blogger dashboard
•near your picture or logo on the left, click "Edit Profile"
•go to the first section labeled "Privacy"
•in this section, the third line down should say "Show Email Address"
•make sure the IS a Check Mark in the "Show Email Address"
•if you don't have an email address listed, you can fill it in in the "Identity" section
•The MOST IMPORTANT part when you finish, is to go to the bottom of the page and click "Save Profile" on the bottom left side. If you do not click save it won't work.
(directions copied from "I Have a Notion", who copied it from "Sew Many Ways" blogs. Thanks girls!)
I KNOW YOU CAN DO THIS

Outdoor Wednesday

A couple of weeks ago I showed you a huge Bougainvillea that is growing on the side of our house.  It has bloomed even more, as we have enjoyed wonderful warm weather.

Here is the view from the front of our house

Let's get a little closer

Such a unique flower.
Now let's step through the gate and see how it looks from the back yard.

There are other flowers blooming in the yard.

These Pentas were planted last year and they are still blooming.

I received a beautiful Hydrangea for Mothers Day last year, so I thought I would see if it would grow in my yard.

It looks like little buds are appearing.

More Pentas

And these Roma Tomatoes are still growing!

Have I mentioned that I love living in the south :-)

Icy Blue

This is my first table since having surgery on my wrist in December.  It's been a slow and painful recovery and I still have a long way to go.

This is the first time I've felt like playing with my dishes, so I hope you will be kind with my first effort.  It was a little bit of a challenge gathering things up with one hand.

I love these blue dinner plates I found at Goodwill about a year ago.  I googled the letters on the back of the plate -mse.  What a surprise and delight to discover they are a Martha Stewart line. The salad plates are Mornay by Mikasa, Flatware Venetian by Community.

Words to Live By

Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again,
but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst.
Indeed, the water I give him will become in him
a spring of water welling up to
eternal life.

Pretty Pink Teapot

I've had this teapot for such a long time, that I am not really sure where I got it from. It is marked Sadler England on the bottom. The picture does not do it justice, as it is a such a lovely shade of pink, with the sweet little roses.

I think the teapot coodinates so well with two of my pink Royal Albert teacups.

I hope you enjoy a cuppa today, and please stop by and visit the various parties :-)

A Simple Idea

While visiting my BFF a few years ago, I was a guest in her basement apartment. She has it decorated so beautifully. One thing that stood out to me was how she uses her quilts around her home.

This vintage Singer stand at one time had a top on it.

But my BFF took off the top and had her Dad make rods to fit across the frame. She now uses it as a quilt rack.

A simple idea made into a lovely display area :-)

Mazzaro's

Mazzaro's Italian Market is like stepping into Little Italy.

Located at 2909 22nd Avenue N, St. Petersburg, Florida 33713, the building sets the mood for the delights inside.

And what are some of the delights inside?
 Meat market
 Deli
 Fresh pasta
All freshly made pizza.
Cheeses imported from all over the world

And we can't forget the BAKERY!!!

After you have shopped, you can purchase something from the bakery, and enjoy a cup of fresh coffee.

That is, if you can grab a seat :-)

Demitasse Tea Time

Several years ago, when my BFF from cold country came down to visit, we spent a day at the Tea Room.

Isn't it just lovely?

And if you look very closely, you will see the bottom layer has the little desserts. But look a little closer. You can see that on the dessert layer are these dainty little demitasse cups. Do you know what was in these delicate little cups?

They were layered with cake, cut up strawberries and whipped topping. A Strawberry Shortcake ala tea room! So delicious, and so creative. Who would have thought to serve strawberry shortcake in these precious little cups? So if you have any little cups just hanging around, even if the saucers are long gone, make up a batch of cake, add some sliced strawberries and top it off with whipping cream. You will be the hostess with the mostess serving these little gems at your next tea party.

Words to Live By

The righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
They are planted in the house of the Lord;
they flourish in the courts of our God.
They still bear fruit in old age;
they are ever full of sap and green,
to declare that the Lord is upright;
he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

Psalm 92:12-15
