Drive By Shooting

Traveling with my family, we spied something new!

I had my camera at the ready, as we were driving past these farms. I was so excited when I saw the first barn quilt, but my hubby did not slow down much, so I had to do a drive by shooting :-)

First day of Fall

Summer is waning. Fall is on the way. Although we don't have the typical change of seasons in Florida, we celebrate the fall colors indoors.

Welcome Fall!

Justice Buried - a review

Justice Buried is the latest novel by Patricia Bradley.

Kelsey Allen, as a security consultant, is to discover how easily someone could break into a business. Somehow, after Kelsey rappels down the side of a 14 story building, she sees someone in the supposed empty building. A flash of light, the back wash of a figure keep Kelsey guessing what that person is doing there. Kelsey is assigned a new job, that of a museum conservator, looking for the breech in security as valuable artifacts are being stolen. And in the mix, Kelsey's father had been accused of many of the thefts.

Detective Brad Hollister comes on the scene when he is set up as Kelsey's date. After not seeing her for a dozen years, Brad is surprised to see how Kelsey has changed. But when he finds Kelsey, dressed in dark clothes after the formal function, he becomes suspicious. Especially when a body is discovered. The body of Kelsey's boss.

Justice Buried was a good  mystery novel. I found it to be a little slow at times. And there were references to situations that were probably from the previous novel. Which left me wondering about the people involved.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher. All views expressed are my honest opinion.

Hurricane Irma

 Image result for hurricane pictures

It's been non-stop this past week as we prepare for landfall of Hurricane Irma.  Every store was out of water, bread and other staples. Even plywood became nonexistent. So we ask for your prayers, as this massive storm shifts west, heading straight to where I live. We've been through hurricanes before, and know the destruction they havoc. But this one is huge! With destruction in it's wake. Being with out power will be difficult, not knowing how long the duration. I've been making ice and water in my Brita filtered pitcher. Hopefully it will be enough, as the water may be unsafe for some time after Irma leaves us behind.

So I will probably be off line for a while. We are still thinking of those victims of Hurricane Harvey, as we face Irma's wrath.

Be safe!

These pictures are from Stanley Goldenberg's facebook page.

As we continue to wait for the approach of IRMA, here are some wonderful pics and videos of IRMA.  They are rather large (one is movie) so I will direct you to my FaceBook post to see them.  It is worth it.
I think this link will get you there, or just go to my FB homepage.
