Storing Up Trouble

48357232

Storing Up Trouble by Jen Turano is a fun historical romance story.

Beatrix Waterbury is an American Heiress sent to live with her suffragette aunt due to all the trouble that she seems to get into. On her way to Chicago she finds herself in the middle of a train robbery. She escapes with Norman Nesbit, who assumes she has an unfortunate background. Beatrix is insulted by his assumptions, and lets him know how arrogant he is. This gets Norman's attention as he discovers how much he has missed in his life.

When Aunt Gladys encourages Beatrix to take a job, things get humorous and tragic. Being  thrown into the world of commerce, she sees first hand how women struggle in the world.

I loved how Beatrix and Norman learn to like each other, after a poor start. And how Norman becomes a better person from the challenges that Beatrix is not afraid to dish out.

This is a well written story with great dialogue.

A Simple Wedding - a review

 A Simple Wedding

What could possibly go wrong? A Simple Wedding by Leigh Duncan shows how very much could go wrong when Jenny Longley steps in for her famous cousin to plan a very simple wedding.

Keeping her cousin Kay's wedding a secret proves to be quite a challenge.  As a popular and famous actor, Kay wants to hold a small intimate wedding at Hearts Landing. The very location Jenny has dreamed about since they were kids. Jenny goes along and acts as the bride to make all the arrangements. As long as she doesn't divulge that the real bride Kay. Things go along well, until Kay decides to make last minute changes.

Nick Bell is the wedding cake baker who befriends Jenny and enchants her with his mouth watering cupcakes. Problem is, he starts to fall for her. Knowing that she is engaged to someone else leaves the plot of the drama frustrating to say the least, as Jenny begins to fall for Nick as well. What will the truth reveal?

This is a delightfully sweet romance.  Hallmark Publishing has hit the mark with this one.

Love the Irish

Have you ever noticed that on St. Patrick's Day, everyone seems to be a little bit Irish?  It's pouring down rain here this morning, which makes everything that is green, appear that much greener.

I only have a few of pieces of Jadeite. I love the cool green colors.

Isn't it perfect for a piping hot cup of tea on St. Patrick's Day?

Spring is in the air

Spring time is such a lovely time to invite over friends and family.

A beautifully hand painted service from my late MIL.

I love using my depression glass "Heritage" plates.

And these lovely Lenox Butterfly dishes welcome in Spring.

Years ago I purchased this stainless set from the Oneida outlet in Georgia.
Living Quarters "Ashville".

Yes Spring is in the air. What a lovely time to entertain friends and family.
