I have stated before how much I love made in USA china. I am always on the look out for some pieces to add to my collection. As I have been out of town for the last few days, I thought it would be a good idea to check out what was new at the Goodwill. My visit was a good one.
I first caught a glimpse of this lovely platter -
I loved the sweet flowers on the cream colored china. It is Homer Laughlin Virginia Rose. I've seen a few pieces here and there, but this was the first time I've seen the platter.
As I kept searching I came across a few more pieces.
Only two cups and saucers, so I picked them up and found two more dessert plates and small bowls. Wouldn't these be lovely for a special tea party for two??
And here is a lovely picture from my recent trip to Ohio Amish Country.
Isn't it pretty. I think it looks like a post card :-)
Now be sure to check out Colorado Lady's blog and visit the other great blogs on Vintage Thingie Thursday!
Happy Thriftin'!

Love them...I have some of the same pattern, they are the ones my husband found at the dump...most are all chipped and nicked, but I love them just the same. Your photo from Amish country is just amazing...postcard perfect.
~Have a great VTT and a wonderful weekend!
It is beautiful pattern, look so sweet. Hope it is not cost you too much.
the shot is nice, you can send to me as postcard you know.
That's a pretty pattern. I don't buy dishes, but I am watching for a nice teacup and saucer to use when I want to make a cup of tea look festive.
Your picture does look like a postcard...I may have been there before. Formerly from Ohio and been to the Amish country. A little cool for me this time of year now that I'm in KY. :)
Living it up at Lakewood,

I love anything to do with the Amish. They are such talented and good people. I was not aware there were many in Ohio.
Beautiful - and when I come for tea, I'll expect you to use them, lol. Love the pic from Amish country, yes it does look just like a postcard!
Those dishes are really lovely, and yes, they would be perfect for tea! Actually it would be a pleasure to eat anything from them!
That's a really great picture of the covered bridge! You should check out the covered bridge festival in Indiana some time!

Cream-colours are my absolute favourites. I have one large oval serving dish from my mother and I really treasure it.
Thanks for sharing - and for dropping by A Canadian Family.
Have a nice weekend,

Pretty covered bridge. They are hard to find these days. The photo is just like a postcard or maybe a jigsaw puzzle. your plates were a great find. I find it hard to not like something when there are flowers on them.
Hi!
I really like the H.L. dishes! And love that you were able to find the cups and saucers to go with the platter!
I love platters. Even more than tea cups! Not only is the pattern of flowers lovely but check out the scrolled edge. WOW! :)
