Vintage Hankies VTT

I have had these hankies ever since I was a little child. I'm not sure you would actually call them vintage, but they are old to me :-)

I found this last hankie while I was shopping in a thrift store recently. It is in such very good condition. I'm not sure it is very old, but for 79c, I thought it was lovely enough to come home with me.

Hankies, linens, fabrics - love them all! I just saw a blog where they used an old glass paned door and filled each pane with a hankie then turned it sideways to use as a headboard. It was soooo pretty.

It's been a long time since I have seen handkerchiefs in a store, though I suppose you can still buy them somewhere.

I enjoyed seeing all your vintage hankies. I have several and one of them is exactly like your purple one. I have had them for years.

All of your hankies are so pretty, especially that purple one with the lilacs on it! They make me think of my Grandma, who always had one tucked in the pocket of her apron or dress! Great memories!
Happy VTT!

Those are so pretty! I have all my grandma's old hankies - I just love them - they live in a drawer because I don't know what to do with them, lol.

Lovely lacy hankies!!!

I remember ironing them when I was a girl.

I remember carrying one to church when I was a girl - - - same era when I wore little white gloves to church. Well, the gloves and hankies were white when I left home anyway - - -

Haven't worn or used either in years!

Beautiful hankies! I know I had some as a child but no longer have those, although I do have quite a few I have picked up. I can remember getting them as gifts as a child, they were so special. Your purple hankie is lovely!

There are plenty of moments I wish I had a hankie on me. I'm such a cry baby. This was another feminine quality of the women back then that I admire. And now to think it's only worth 79 cents.

The purple hankie reminds me of a hankie I used in grade school to make a card for my Mother. It was the skirt...I will have to find that card and share....

Hankies remind me of my husband's grandmother who always had one tucked in her cuff with a little bit sticking out. Nice collection.

Love all your pretty hankies! I have quite a collection too. I bought a wooden spoon display rack at the thrift store. I painted it white. Then you take a hankie and tuck a corner into each slot. A great way to display them. For the ones that are stained, I use Oxyclean and soak them. All the spots come out, and they are sparkly clean! I made ornaments for my tree with the white ones. So pretty.
