Thanksgiving tea

I do have so much to be thankful for. I'd like to think that being thankful is not just a once a year event.

One special lady that I am thankful for is my hubby's dear aunt. She took me under her wing when my own Mother passed away, and sort of became a grandma to my children.

When we were packing up Auntie's house for her move to the ALF, we found this teapot in the top cabinet stuck way in the back. Auntie never drank tea, so it made me wonder if it might have been her mother's pot.

It's not the fanciest teapot, but to me it is beautiful. I know the picture looks a little green, but it is really a pale irridescent yellow on the sides. There are no markings.

So for today, I would love to invite you to a Thanksgiving tea. We can share what we are thankful for along with a spot of tea. I am most thankful for you dear reader. I am encouraged each day when I read comments that are left.

So let's sit down, pour the tea and visit a while.

And please join our lovely hostess Kim from Shabby Pink and Pretty and enjoy a spot of tea with all those who have signed up for Tea Things Tuesday!

Hello! What a pretty little teapot it is! And so very special too since it belonged to your dear aunt. I think the cup and saucer you showed with it is beautiful and really looks lovely with the teapot.

Have a lovely day....

I hope that when I'm gone, someone just like you will treasure my teapots & keep my memory alive, like you are doing.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi, Jocelyn,
I loved the story about your aunt and how she took you under her wing! I think the teapot is so pretty, and you can tell it is very old. I especially love the roses and yellow on it. Your teacup is so pretty as well. I so enjoyed my tea with you. I am thankful for your friendship! Vicki

What a sweet story you shared today Jocelyn. You are so very lucky to have such a beautiful teapot to remind you of your hubby's aunt. The colors of the teapot are so pretty and I just love that teacup as well. They go so well together don't they? Wishing you and your family a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving.
