A cup of tea on Tea Things Tuesday

There is a small thrift shop out in a rural area about 40 minutes from home. I've been in this thrift shop before, but it's not in my normal driving run. So as I was out in that area, I figured I would take the opportunity to take a quick look around as they usually have very reasonable prices. I was very happy that I did.

I saw this teacup right away in the glass case by the register. When I was checking out, I asked to see it. It was all wrapped up with tape, but it looked in good condition.

It does not have any markings on the plate or cup, but it resembles the style of German or Bavarian china. And for $2.89, I could not pass this one up.

It was just too lovely not to add to my collection :-)

Now please make yourself a cup of tea, and visit Kim's blog (Shabby, Pink and Pretty). You will enjoy visiting all the other lovely blogs who have signed up for Tea Things Tuesday.

Oh so very pretty!! 2.89 is a great deal as well. Here they would have had 5.99 at a min on it.
I am thinking I may have to do a Thrifty run soon.
Maybe Thursday..my treat to me.. suppose to have sunshine too!haha!

Your new find is just beautiful, Jocelyn! I love the soft pink roses, and that little spray of blue...so delicate and pretty. Don't you love those thrift stores? They've become my favorite place to shop, not only for the prices, but for the thrill of claiming something that has been discarded, and to give it a new home where it will be loved. I hope you enjoy sipping some delicious tea out of often!

Happy TTT!
Mary

I would have to agree with you Jocelyn. The teacup is just lovely and I don't think I could have let it behind either, especially with it being priced as low as it was. Don't you just love finding pretty treasures that cost only a few dollars? I know I do. That's what makes thrifing and antiquing so much fun.

That teacup is very pretty. When I first saw it I thought it matched a plate that I have from my Grandmother's wedding china (1928). It is very similar with the pretty roses but not exactly the same. It's a pretty piece at a pretty price!

Hello, Jocelyn,
This teacup is very pretty. It reminds me of a set of dishes that I have from Germany. I am so glad you found such a wonderful bargain, too! Sending many happy autumn thoughts your way! Vicki
