The Mistletoe Countess by Pepper Basham is a delightful book, well written with intriguing characters.
Lord Astley is to marry an American heiress to help save his beloved Havensbrook estate. But he ends up marrying the wrong bride. Grace Ferguson never expected to marry a Lord, but is thrust into the situation when her older sister runs off with her love.
As it turns out, Frederick really ends up marrying the right bride. There is a mystery that surrounds the death of Frederick's father and brother and Grace and Frederick join forces to investigate. From starting out as strangers, they learn that love is a strong bond.
This is a good clean read, with Grace's exuberant imagination, and rock solid faith. She comes along side and supports and upholds Frederick in so many ways. She looks for adventure in every corner, and Frederick finds himself enamored and uplifted by Grace's reinforcement.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from Net Galley and the publisher. All views expressed are my honest opinion.
