The back porch

Ever since I started reading Susan's blog Between Naps on the Porch, I've been in love with her back porch.

Our porch is not as large as Susan's but I wanted to have a little place to escape to read, enjoy tea or lunch or just watch the birds as they come and go from the feeder.

My original thought was to find some pretty white wicker furniture. But when I found this set at Home Depot, I knew it would be perfect for our little nook.

A little note about these luncheon napkins. My step-mother gave these to me, along with a matching tablecloth. The tablecloth was used til it became thread bare and badly stained, but I never used the napkins. They were a wedding gift, so they are probably considered vintage by now ;-)

I've been picking up these Boopie glasses at Goodwill for $1.00

Most days you can find me out here with a good book and cup of  tea or a glass of lemonade.

I would nap on your porch in a heartbeat! If not nap, at least settle in with a good book.

I am such a fan of the porch. Whether it is the front porch or the back porch, it is such a relaxing and cozy place to be. Whether it is for eating, reading or entertaining friends, the porch is such a special outdoor room. Your back porch is so inviting with your comfortable furniture and your yummy food. I am most certain that family and friends would not want to leave your cozy setting.

I love how the napkins' edging echoes the pattern in the trays (I think) on the table. And the pattern is picked up in the side of the armchair. It's always the details that make such an impact!
