When Charlotte Simpson's mother passed away, she and her step-sister inherit the horse ranch her mother ran. Charlotte's mother would never reveal who Charlotte's biological father was. But it was Charlotte's deepest desire to know who he was.
Gunner Dawson takes the temporary job as the horse trainer. He travels from one job to another. Never letting the grass grow under his feet. But when he meets Charlotte, he somehow lets his feelings get in the way when sparks start to fly.
This is a stand alone story, but it does touch on the other stories along the way. There are so many emotions going on. Charlotte is trying to not hurt anyone, but it is hard not to hurt everyone. Family, compassion, forgiveness, and a romance round out this tale. As always Denise Hunter is a master at writing well rounded characters. Her stories never disappoint.
