Now there are more and more buildings that reach towards the sky.

Reflections
It's been quite a while since I have driven downtown. A lot has changed, but a lot stays the same.
Many years ago, I worked downtown. There were only a couple of tall buildings at that time.

Tell me this isn't a fun way to serve up lunch?
Fresh baked scones.
Fresh garden salad with strawberries, Gorgonzola cheese and Sweet Roasted pecans.
Salad dressings served in crystal creamers.
Pasta E Fagioli soup.
Delicious desserts (Recipe HERE)
What a lovely way to start off the New Year!

Antique dressers
When my father in law passed away three years ago, the family divided up the contents of the home he and my MIL lived in for 70+ years. Two items that we inherited was the furniture that belonged to my MIL's mother. Finally, after sitting in our garage (and airing out) for the last two years, we set up the dressers in the guest room.
Originally the little corner was a sitting area, so we moved the seating over by the French doors.
So happy to be able to use Granny's furniture. I know she and my MIL would be pleased.

Simple Winter Dinner
I love living in the South. The balmy weather makes for very pleasant
days almost year round. But about this time of year, someone always
leaves the door open from the frigid North and we get bombarded with
pretty cold weather.
So on days like today, I love to make a pot of Chili to serve up hot and filling. Add a little salad on the side and we have a great meal to ward off the cold weather.
Dessert?
I love these beautiful dishes that I found at Goodwill a couple of years ago. I nearly left them because they only had Soup bowls and salad plates. I'm so glad I decided to bring them home.
Soup and Salad dishes - Mornay by Mikasa (Goodwill)
White Chargers - Westbury Court by PTS International (Home Goods)
Soup Tureen - Nortake (Antique shop)
White plates with silver rim - Royalton China

Snow White
As the Bomb Cyclone bombarded almost the entire east coast, Florida braced as we were threatened to experience snow. Snow did fall on the upper peninsula, but aside from freezing temps, the rest of the state was spared any of the white stuff.
Instead, I thought I would featured a snow white table.
I hope everyone who reads this blog was spared from the January 2018 blizzard devastation.
Looking for Spring :-)
