The Tea Experience

Over the years,
I have visited many tea rooms.

Some were local
some were in other states.

One was even in a foreign country

Sometimes the service is good

but the food is lacking

other times the food is excellent

but the service poor.

But where do we derive our pleasure in taking Tea?? Is it the ambiance? Whether it is tea bags, or loose tea. Are the scones cake like or a biscuit? Or is it the company that one keeps?

Tell me which one makes a memorable Tea experience for you.

I think for me its the company and the ambiance for sure. While on vacationing with my Mom and Dad, I had the pleasure of taking Mom to tea at Butchart Gardens, she loved it and it was a special time of us. I hosted my sister's bridal shower at a local tea house and we has a glorious time.
I enjoyed your post very much.
Have a sweet day, Elizabeth

Tea at the Ritz Carlton, New Orleans. Quiet relaxation and refinement in a not so quiet nor refined city.

MMMMMMmmmmmm! I can taste the cheese straws now!

The ambiance, relaxation, delicacy, time for refection and a slower pace with delights for the eye and palate with a chance to share time and an experience with a friend (friends).
Thanks for sharing a reflective post and linking to Tuesday Cuppa Tea.

I love the teapots! And my goodness, that sandwich is almost bigger than the plate. My kinda sandwich.

Definitely the company for me, and then the presentation. I have a tea journal where I keep track of all the tea rooms I've visited (or want to) and rate them from 1-10 and of course make notations.
As you've recounted, some are outstanding while others are lacking in some aspect.

My dear friend owns a tea room and I took the ladies from our church there. It was a new experience for them. My delight was in their enjoyment and in my friend telling them information on taking tea - her food was exceptional - all in all a wonderful experience - lovely post! I do appreciate you sharing with A Return to Loveliness,
Kathy

Hi Jocelyn,
For me, it is the company and the presentation. Tea is almost always an enjoyable time of reflection for me. Thank you for joining me for tea and have a delightful week.

Blessings,
Sandi

Hi Joycelyn,
I have never been in a tea room, because we don't have them here. We have the same with coffee and there I like, when the atmosphere is nice. Means for me, that the furniture, china and the cakes are lovely and a bit romantic.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful photos.
Best greetings, Johanna

For me it's definitely the experience. And having a fun social with gal friends or family. I have only attended two. Both were quite fun. Must admit, love love those scones! Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.
