Vintage Thrifting

I recently headed out to the Goodwill and found this darling bowl -

I don't think it is milk glass, but I've seen this kind before. It is shaped like it might belong to a mixing set. Nice size too. And only ONE dollar!

I also love to use these little dishes.

There were five of them, all taped together for, YES ONE dollar. And they all say Fire King on the bottom. Yipee!!!!

The last time I was in the Goodwill I found these lovely candlesticks.
What I really love about these candlesticks is the wider bottom. The second one actually still had the sticker with the marking on it -

24% Lead Crystal Made in the USA!

And as I am always on the lookout for vintage linens, these sheets fit the bill perfectly.

I am over the moon about the pink one. It did not have a price on it, so I put it back, then picked it up again, saw a worker and asked about the price. She went to the back, and I was thinking, yea, they are going to sock it to me. She came back and it was marked $1.99! Woo-Hoo, great for me!!! One of these days I am going to make a quilt with the vintage sheets I'm collecting and I'd LOVE to use the pink sheet for the backing :-)

Isn't it fun to find treasures on a thrifting day??

I had two similar bowls. Mine were marked either Pyrex or Fireking it seems to me now. Think both are broken (know one was) one may have been shoved way back in the back recesses of the corner of the cabinets in kitchen.

The little bowls my grandmother used to make me custard in some like them when I'd have sore throat/ear infection for a treat.

I love your sheets!! I've never seen the pink pattern before.

We use the custard cups all the time around here. I am forbidden to bring anymore home, though. They are so handy and just the right size for so many uses.

I have the same bowl. I bought it last year because the flowers seem to match my curtains in my dining room.

Great Finds! Our local Goodwills are not that great with prices. I found a new one..HUGE...about 30 miles away while riding thru a little town. Gonna havta take a ride again and go in to check it out..seems better prices outside of Cincinnati.
Love those 70's sheets...yes I know when they date from....my Mom still has those in a different colorway..LOL

I love the mixing bowl. Looks like the type that comes in a set of three different sizes.

I love thrifting, too! :-) That is a really cute sheet, and in my favorite color. ;-) I like quilting, also. Lately I've been making doll clothes to sell during any time I get to sew, but I do need to finish a wall hanging quilt I started before our second son was born 2 and half years ago! Ha
I found your blog through your comment on Hooked on Houses. ;-)
