Vintage Sewing

Isn't it fun to find treasures when you are traveling? On a recent trip heading north on Interstate 75, my sister in love and I stopped in at the Peach Antique Mall. We looked and hunted and scoured the massive mall filled with all kinds of oldy and vintagey things. Although there were lots of things to look at, they were either not items of our interest or they were too pricey.

However, when I spied this Sewing basket, my pink radar went off.

A little over a year ago I found a similar one in NC, but with a price tag of $44, I left it for someone else. So when this little beauty showed itself, with a price tag half that amount, I knew it was coming home with me.

And this one was even filled with sewing notions.

Whereas the NC basket was empty.

Sometimes it just pays to wait and keep looking ;-)

I'm joining Coloradoladys Vintage Thingie Thursday, and Very Merry Vintage Style.

I have admired those in antique malls and have been so tempted. If I ever find one at the right price...

My grandmother was a fashion designer. She NEVER used a sewing machine. Everything she stitched was by hand. Looking at your photos reminded me of her. Thanks for sharing your find and reminding me of my memories!

I love that basket--I have one almost like it but mine is white with floral motiff. Lucky you and waited for just the right time to get what you wanted!
