Just sharing what a lovely friend made and sent for Valentine's Day.

Garage Sale Gal made this very cute Valentine's card for me. And along with it, she sent two vintage cards and a delicious tea for me to try. It was such a pleasant surprise. Visit Deb and see all of her beautiful cards and vintage finds.

Delicious Strawberry Pie

Strawberry season has arrived in Florida! Plant City has THE most delicious strawberries, and right now they are plump and sweet. It's a perfect time to make a Strawberry Pie for my Valentine!

The original recipe called for "Wild" Strawberry jello, but I've not been able to find it anymore. So here is my version.

Cast of characters includes -

Fresh Strawberries
Strawberry Jello (large package)
3 Tablespoons cornstarch
1 cup Sugar
1 1/2 cups water

Combine cornstarch, sugar and water. Cook over medium high heat - stirring constantly until thick and bubbly. Stir in 3/4 package Strawberry Jello and remove from heat. Let cool.

In a deep precooked pie shell, layer washed and hulled strawberries. Pour Jello mixture over strawberries making sure all the strawberries are covered. Refrigerate.


Serve with a dollop of Whipped Cream

I thought I would share a few pictures from my travels last month. I found this linky on Whims and Fancies.  

So here goes -

Taking to the skies, looking back on my beautiful Florida coastline.

Bordered by snow, we traveled up to Hocking Hills in Ohio.

A warm and cozy fireplace where we snuggled in for a three day retreat.

This last picture made me think of a happy little face.

And then, home again, home again.
