A Thrifty thought

Yes, I'm thrifty.  Many years ago I ran into a problem.  I was wrapping a gift, and did not have any tissue paper for the package.  What I did have was some gently used paper.  So out of desperation, I set my iron on medium, and started pressing.

Pretty soon all the wrinkles were all gone!

Apple Dip

Apples are in abundance now, so it's a perfect time to make Apple Dip.

1 8 oz package Cream Cheese (soften at room temp)
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
1/3 cup 10x Powdered Sugar
2 T Vanilla
1/3 cup crushed Salted Peanuts

Blend first 4 ingredients together til smooth.  Add peanuts.

Simple recipe.

Simply delicious!

The Tool Box

When I found the white tool box on our last trip up north, I envisioned filling it with white Hydrangeas.  But when I came upon these at a deep discount, I realigned my vision!

The Hydrangeas are brown with a touch of green.  Perfect for a fallish table.

Today is Veterans Day in the US.  We honor and thank those who have fought for our freedom and served our country.

My father in law served in WW2.

I think it was hard on this young man, because he never talks about the time he spent in the military and his service during the war. But I am thankful non the less, for his service.
