Sugar Mill Historic State Park

Another unique place we visited on our drive was the Yulee Sugar Mill Ruins. An historic state park located in Homosassa.

The 5,000 acre plantation was destroyed during the Civil War.

Wedding Breakfast

Weddings.  June has typically been the month of weddings.  I thought it would be fun to dress a Breakfast table.

The cake topper is preserved from our 25th wedding anniversary.

My wedding china "Trudy" by Noritake and silverware "Venetia" by Oneida. From 50 years ago.

Won't you join me visiting these parties -

The love of Blue

My love of blue dishes has not waned over the years. Whenever I find a pretty blue dish or cup and saucer, I have to add it to my growing collection.

Rows of blues
The dishes have been found at thrift stores and Antique shops.

Do you display china through the year? Which season is your favorite?

Fort Island

Hubby took me for a ride on Saturday. We drove north on US19 and made some unique discoveries.

The first place was Fort Island Gulf Beach. Driving about 10 miles west of US 19, on a long mostly deserted drive, we came to this beach.

Neither of us had ever heard of it before.

There were people there, sunning and enjoying the sandy beach.

At the end of the road was a small pier and a place to drop boats into the water.

And if you look farther north you will see the Crystal River Power Plant.

The beach is really remote and reminded me of how the beaches used to be years ago before all the condos and hotels started lining the landscape.

With Every Memory

With Every Memory by Janine Rosche is an emotional story that follows Lori and her daughter Avery.

After a tragic accident that leaves Lori with a traumatic brain injury and 8 years of memory loss. Her 17 year old son, who is Avery's twin, dead.   Avery struggles at the loss of her twin, and there is stress between Lori and husband Michael. The emotions displayed throughout the story are a roller  coaster. But in the end there is hope that is woven through the tough times.

This is most definitely a difficult read. But Janine Rosche writes thoughtful and clean stories. Her writing is deep and heart breaking. Her characters are full as you slip next to them to hear their story. There were some issues that were difficult for me to read, and may be for more mature readers.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book, which I received from the publisher. All opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

An invitation

As I sat outside, enjoying the early morning breeze and taking in the beauty of the day, I was thinking about you dear friend.

So I laid out a place setting, just for you.

Let's share some fellowship time together.

I love to sit on the back porch, watch the birds at the feeder and listen to the water flowing in the pond........

and from the fountain.
So this morning, I invite you to share this little bit of beauty with me
...... and enjoy the God who is sovereign over all.
