Where the Blue Sky Begins
Where the Blue Sky Begins is the first book I've read by author Katie Powner. The story is full of emotion and depth.
An unlikely friendship develops between Eunice Parker and Eric Larson. Eric is sent to small town Montana to handle family business. Eunice needs to settle her affairs. She has little time left and runs into Eric, literally, and their meeting changes everything.
A contemporary fiction writer, Powner has written a thoughtful story that centers around friendship and forgiveness. Her writing tugs at the heartstrings. An inspirational clean read.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher. All views expressed are my honest opinion.

Happy Thanksgiving holiday
Did you have a happy Thanksgiving? It is sometimes hard when loved ones are missing from the gathering. But gather we did.
And Black Friday found me at the outlet mall, where Christmas was already making it's appearnce.

Give Thanks
1 Thessalonians 5:18
Thanksgiving is a time of quiet reflection upon the past and an annual reminder that God has again been ever so faithful. The solid and simple things of life are brought into clear focus, so much so that everything else fades into insignificance.

Frozen Detective
Frozen Detective by Amanda Flower is a well played cozy mystery in the Piper and Porter mystery series.
Darby Piper and Tate Porter are called upon to investigate the mysterious threatening notes sent to their clients husband. In the twisty and mysterious way, the details are less forthcoming. The setting is in a ski lodge on a New Years weekend. There are a lot of suspects when a murder takes place.
This is the first book by this author that I have read. And I really enjoyed it. It is put out by Hallmark Publishing, so you can imagine this as a movie along the way.

Thanksgiving
Fall, Thanksgiving and Christmas is the time of year that my home becomes a palette. Shopping the house makes for a fun challenge.
I love this beautiful Turkey platter that I found at Goodwill.
Stemware and Soup Tureen from Goodwill.

Decorating the hutch
Fall colors are always so warm and inviting. The time when we hunker down and begin our seasonal decorating.
Thanksgiving will be here in a week. I love to decorate my hutch and will soon take them to the winter dishes.

Engaging Deception
I have always enjoyed Regina Jennings stories. Engaging Deception is the third book in the Joplin series. I found it to be a little different than I thought.
Olive Kentworth loves to design buildings The trouble is, in the last century women just did not do that. She has designed buildings using her cousin as a cover. But when she meets widower Maxfield Scott, a highly trained architect, she becomes involved with him by becoming the nanny for his children while he escorts his lady friend. She uses the time to study books from his library.
Although Maxfield is courting the daughter of one of his clients, he finds himself drawn to Olive.
This story was a unique twist. Olive's interest in architecture was not a subject that most women would find terribly interesting. But Ms Jennings always puts her spin of compelling characters, adventurous family members, and witty dialogue. And always a clean read.

All the leaves are gone
As we traveled there was not a lot of color left on the trees.
But there was plenty on the ground.

Family traditions
Does your family have traditions for the holidays? Our family enjoyed family time with my in laws for as long as I have been married. When my hubbys Mom passed away, she left behind memories of family gatherings around her table. Lots of laughter, conversations, and good food were shared by all. I have auditioned a November table as a jump start for the Holiday season.
