The Great Conjunction 2020

Did you see it? On Monday, December 21st, Saturn and Jupiter lined in conjunction. Though the planets will appear to overlap, Saturn and Jupiter won’t literally be close to each other, as both are massive planets — each roughly 760-1,300 times the size of Earth — and will still be hundreds of millions of miles apart.

Such an event, dubbed the “Jupiter-Saturn Great Conjunction,” occurs every 20 years. It also been referred to as the “Star of Bethlehem” due to its brightness, similar to the star that is said to have guided the three wise men to Bethlehem.

Yes! I saw it just above the horizon yesterday. Suddenly the sky was clear after months with thick clouds, rain and snow.

Thanks for sharing because I didn't get to see it myself.

So glad you joined us at 'My Corner of the World' this week! Merry Christmas!

It's been cloudy all week where I live near sundown, so I never saw it. Happy that you were able to get a good picture for us all to enjoy.
