Much of the food served at modern Thanksgiving dinners includes items
from the very first celebration: turkey, ham, dressing, potatoes,
numerous other vegetables, breads and puddings.
Initially this meal was held to thank God for the blessings of a good crop, having food for the winter.
Thanksgiving is a very family oriented holiday. Relatives often travel
great distances to be with each other to celebrate. Thanksgiving is the
busiest travel time of the entire year.
Do you have family traditions? What are your plans for this Thanksgiving?
May your Thanksgiving be a time of joy and blessings.

You have a lovely tablescape. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. With family and thankfulness, how can you go wrong?!!
What a wonderful table! Yes, Thanksgiving is a lovely holiday. We celebrate ours in October here in Canada and we serve all the same fare. It is something that families and friends look forward to every year and then the Christmas preparations begin after that. I always acknowledge our Remembrance Day on November 11 before I begin to decorate however as many of us here do. Lots going on in October, November, and December here. Thank you for sharing with us, Jocelyn. Blessings...Sandi
Your table is beautiful!!! It's always fun to set a Thanksgiving table, with all of the rich and glowing colors. Thanksgiving and Christmas are both favorite holidays of mine.
