Autumn has come and will soon be gone. Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner. But before we leave the warm spicy colors of Fall, here's a little table I set for a special lunch.
With the cooler weather, I always enjoy a cup of hot tea in the evenings. And it's always enjoyable when sipping the tea from a teacup that reminds me of Autumn and all of their beautiful colors.
On a return flight from Ohio, we stopped in Atlanta to take on more passengers. This was such a fun perspective as we awaited our turn to drive down to the runway.
This is the first book I've read written by Lynn Austin. "Keepers of the Covenant" is a compelling story bringing to life Old Testament Bible characters. The book gives insight into how the Jewish people must have felt as they were faced with annihilation. Even as the Old Testament is woven throughout this story, I was most taken by the last portion of the story. The scholar Ezra shares - "God's plan is often hidden from us in such a way that we can't see what He's doing. We may feel abandoned by Him and wonder what He is doing and why He has left us all alone. But of course He isn't missing at all, just as He isn't really missing in Esther's story. He's always right beside us, only a prayer away, working out events for our salvation. He wants us to trust Him in faith, even when we can't see or understand what He is doing."
And so it is also true for us today. I often think we push aside the stories of those in the Old Testament, but Ms Austin breathes life into the stories of old and applies God's rich principles for us today.
Thank you to Bethany House for providing "Keepers of the Covenant" for my review.
On one of our recent trips, I found this Harvest Time teacup by Johnson Brothers. I've added it to the other fall teacups in my collection.
Fall is in the air. Even though we don't see the change of the season, we can feel the change in the air. Less humidity, and of course the shorter days.
I recently traveled to Ohio to visit my BFF. Although fall had not officially arrived, some of the trees lining the streets were already showing some color.
