Vintage??
This GE Hand Mixer has been in my kitchen for the last 40 years.
Yep, that's right, 40 years. It was a wedding present. And we still are using it.
However, it's been tired for the last few years. The cord does not want to stay put and sometimes the speed is not as responsive as it should be. But I love beating cake mixes with it. It's been a faithful worker, always available right at my fingertips.
Yesterday, I spied this little beauty at the local Thrift Store.
Not exactly the same model, and no beaters, but it had a good cord and when I plugged it in at the thrift store, it ran really well. It was marked down 1/2 price from $8 and yesterday was an additional 30% off of household goods. So for $2.80 I now have a little companion that uses the same beaters.
I'm telling you, they just don't make them like they used to :-)

Books, books, books
Antique Malls can be so diverse. We sometimes find the most unique displays.
I'm afraid this booth took my breath away!
Yes, I love books! You just squeezed into this space. I could have stayed in this booth for the whole day.
But when I found the mysteries, I made a search for something that would appease my need for a book! And I found Agatha Christie!!
Five complete Hercule Poirot Novels in one volume! For $4. What a great collection!
I'm afraid this booth took my breath away!

Thrifty Things
It's been quite a while since I have contributed to Thrifty Things, but I'm glad to be able to share with you today :-)
We recently returned from a long overdue vacation. And while we were traveling, I had an opportunity to meet up with a fellow blogger.
Deb and I met up and had a wonderful time together. She has a great blog - Garage Sale Gal - that I have followed for a long time. We both have a love for finding treasures.
And while we were at the Antique Mall, I found a treasure to bring home with me.
When we first passed by, I was sure the price was not right. But it was!! A great retro pitcher for $1.25. One we will be happy to use.
