Snug as a bug......

Before my little accident, I was taking you through our new house and showing how we are making it our own.

This was the living room the first time we saw the house.

We have changed the wall color, added a mantel to the fireplace, and tried several different rugs to see what would bring this room together.

The first rug we tried.
Although a beautiful rug, we felt the color seemed to blend in too much.

When I saw this rug at Home Goods with black in the center, I thought it would make the color in the furniture pop.

What do you think??

I am linking this post with Remodelaholic, and

And the mantel! OH and always heard you need one something black to ground a room...be a piece of furniture, in a rug, pillow, lampshade, etc.

Perfect!!! We have hardwood floors in our old house and I adore rugs. I have a couple of different ones for the dining area..it's nice to switch them out!
Hope you are feeling better!

I do like the black in the middle so much better...it really does make your furniture pop and stand out.

Love how you've updated the living room!

Great job!

Your mantel looks great. I like both of the rugs, you couldn't lose in my opinion.
