It's time for a Tea Party

I sure do miss Tea Things Tuesday, so every once in a while I like to post about tea things. What really set me off this week was an incredible find at a thrift store on Saturday.

My daughter and her friend decided they wanted to go to thrift stores, and I was their guide :-) As they were looking around this particular store, I found my way over to the housewares. To my amazement I find these tea cups. Lots of tea cups. And so I started to look these tea cups over. Bone china, made in England, Germany and a couple from Japan. I called my daughter on the cell phone and put an SOS out for a shopping cart.

Yes my sweet peeps, here they are...............

And yes, I checked them all over and picked out the ones in the best condition (no chips or cracks). The ladies who were working there said they had just put them out. Some of the saucers did not exactly match, but they were coming home with me for a tea party.

Now are you really ready to know what I paid for these little beauties?

Are you ready??

Really ready??

Twenty cents! Yes folks you heard me right, twenty cents for the cup AND the saucer! I came out of that thrift store with 9 teacups/saucers for $2.00!!!!

Woo-Hoo let's party :-)

p.s. I am linking up with Colorado Lady's Vintage Thingies Thursday. Please stop by and visit the other wonderful vintage finds on Suzanne's blog.

Oh my, what a buy. I can't believe the price. You couldn't even get that price at a garage sale. They are so pretty. I have one of the pink & green.

You definately scored big time in finding those gorgeous teacups at that ridiculous price. I can't believe they would price them so low, but all the better for you. Congrats on your lucky finds.

I would like to find just one nice cup and saucer at a thrift shop.

You got a steal on that deal. When you are having tea, you are supposed to enjoy the company and tea, and not inspect the cups to see if they match,

Wow, what a deal you got! I am impressed and they are so pretty too!

Those are gorgeous! I bet SOMEONE had a collection, and has gone on where tea cups cannot follow, and her FAMILY didn't realize they should be CHERISHED. So glad you found them and will continue to love them.

Oh, congrats on your special find! I'm here via Rhondi's blog and saw the teacups! I was wishing I had a nice teacup for my tea one cold evening this week and forgot I have a whole dish set similar to these rose designs. I pulled a cup and saucer out and had a little tea party of my own. Felt very special! xo,

I *think* I have a few of those.A few years back, my Grandma started going to Auctions, I asked her to get me Teacups and Saucers.I have 12 now.I love them.I should take a picture and put them on my blog, and see if anyone recognizes them.I would be scared to find out they were really nice though...me and all 7 of my kiddos use them...often.
P.S.It's so funny I stopped by today, I posted about our "quilts".
You are very talented, and I love them all!
