Heart friend

Do you have a friend who sticks closer to you then a brother? I've had two such friends in my lifetime. One is with the Lord, and the other lives many states away. But yet when I think of the sweet friendships that we have shared, it warms my heart beyond measure.

"There's a blessing in our friendship,
It's a bond between we two.
For the Lord brought us together,
And I thank Him now for you.

You've been there when I needed you,
We've shared our dreams and plans.
And when at times I've fallen down,
You've given me your hand.

You are always such a Joy
Each time that we're together,
But more than that, you are my friend
And in my heart forever."

So today I am thankful for my heart friends. The ones who really care, and share part of their lives with me. Friends may come and friends may go, but your heart friend is with you forever.

"Kindness is a friend's greatest asset,
With it she can mend misunderstandings
and smooth out rumpled feelings.
With only a well placed word,
She can raise a downcast spirit."

Hug your friend today :-)

Enjoying a cuppa

Everyone seems to be calling for Fall in the month of September. We are still pretty hot but our weather has been pleasant enough to sit out on the back porch and sip my tea and enjoy this literary series.

Have you met Flavia? She is the star of these books by Alan Bradley. They are a little bit of a mystery series, but oh so fun to read. I'm already on my third book in the series.

I'm starting to bring out my Fall china so this Johnson Brothers cup and saucer seemed quite appropriate for today. "Pomona" is the pattern.

iPhone

I don't recall where we were when I shot this picture as we were driving. But the colors were so striking I just had to pull out my phone and shoot.

Lost Alaskan Memories

book cover for Lost Alaskan Memories

Lost Alaskan Memories by Heidi McCahan was such a refreshing look at amnesia plot line.

Max Butler was thought to have died on a mountain in Peru. When he shows up in Opportunity Alaska two years later, every one is shocked. Max has no recollection of his life before his head injury, so things are a little tense as he seeks to remember what his former life was like.

Hayley Morgan is determined to guard her heart after Max chose climbing instead of settling down. She refuses to tell Max how close they were before he left. She just didn't know if she could forgive Max for all the damage that was done.

This is a good story about second chances. The characters were well rounded and there was lots of interesting sidelines.  Family, faith and forgiveness was the key element to this wholesome clean story. Heidi McCahan's writing is paced and well developed.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary ecopy of this book which I received from Net Galley. All views expressed are my honest opinion..

Tea in the Garden

For most of the US, summer is coming to an end.  Here in the deep south, we still enjoy sunshine and balmy days.  So, I wanted to spend a little time in the garden.

My African Violet has been so full of blooms.  I just had to take it out to the garden and enjoy its beauty.

Old Royal Bone China sugar and creamer.

The scarf is a Orenburg Lace Scarf that my daughter bought on a trip.

Tea in the Garden.  It's always a delight to share a tea party.

Blue skies....

...smiling at me. Nothing but blue skies, do I see.
