What Vintage Thingies do you have?

It's been a busy week around here. But I couldn't let the week to go by without showing the rest of the bounty from our last treasure hunt :-)

I found this vintage sewing basket at the Thieves Market for just $3.00. But what I found inside was the greatest find!

Not only was the basket filled to the brim with thread, there was a little zippy bag with all kinds of odds and ends. There was the cutest little embroidery scissors, as well as some vintage buttons.

I've seen these lovely pitchers in several antique shops before. It was something that I thought I'd like to have, but the prices were usually over my budget or chipped up pretty badly. I was so happy to find this pitcher in the same shop where we found the egg scale! woo-hoo, happy day!

And last but not least is this salt and pepper set. The really funny thing was that they were both still full of salt and pepper. I have a couple of these white knobby pieces already, so it was a nice addition to my collection.

Please stop by Colorado Lady's blog and visit the other Vintage Thingie Thursday. Suzanne is a terrific hostess, and there are always so many interesting and fun things to find on the vintage blogging trail.

The sewing basket makes me think of my grandmother. She used to keep all the things in one basket and when I was a kid, she always ask..can you put this into needle's hole for me?

You make me miss her now :)

I love sewing baskets - they usually have treasures within the treasure. Love the little vintage graphic on the button card (bottom right).

Oh how I love that red sewing basket! And they always seem to be packed full of great sewing notions. I love that one button card with the baby on it. So sweet! And I don't think I've ever seen hobnail milk glass S&P shakers before. Very nice!
Happy VTT!

What a fabulous basket, and especially with the treasures inside!

That's funny about the salt and pepper shakers still having salt and pepper in them. The sewing basket was a wonderful find. That is so fun that some of the thread is on the old wooden spools. Have a wonderful Thursday!

Fun finds. I always look for sewing stuff. And I think half of the s&p shakers I have bought have still had stuff in them. Yuck.

The sewing basket reminds me of my mom's, she had a pink one almost just like this...no telling what happened to that....now, I wish I had it. You hit the jackpot with that find! Have a great VTT! and a great weekend.

Cool find! I have a blue one like that from my beginnings in sewing in the 70's.

Do you maybe live in North Carolina? And did you find this at Thieves Market in Cary/Raleigh?

Hello, Jocelyn,
I enjoyed seeing all of your thrift store finds! It is great that the sewing basket also contained treats inside of it. The little cream pitcher is very sweet. The hobnail salt and pepper shakes complete with salt and pepper were wonderful, too. Blessings, sweet friend. Vicki

I have the same salt and pepper set that came from a friend as part of a condiment set. There is a tray with a handle, a honey pot, the salt and pepper shakers, creamer and sugar, and an oil caraffe. I will post them on my blog.
Thanks for sharing.
Have a great day.

The basket is great! That was probably a collection that took place over many years. It's great you have an appreciation for it. I had a sewing kit that belonged to my husbaND's grandmother. When ever I use her thimble I feel like I am touching something she touched. Even though I never knew her I know we had that in common. Great s&p shakers!
