It's almost over

Summer has come and is almost gone. It's getting close to the last time to enjoy the riches of sun and fun on the porch.

................. join me on the porch.

Summertime breakfast

Breakfast always seems to be a rushed time. But once in a while, it's nice to gather around the table and enjoy each others company.

All of the dishes, glassware and service on the table except the salt and pepper (wedding gift) and the tea pot were found at thrift stores.

A gorgeous fruit bouquet to be enjoyed by all.

Grab and plate and pull up a chair. We'd love the company.

Southern Hospitality

Hospitality in the South. They just seem to go together.

Yes, we southerners love to open our homes and offer the sweet fragrance of hospitality.

Come, take your off shoes, and pass the afternoon with us. It surely will be a pleasure.

Chasing Secrets - A review

Cold Case. So many TV shows feature cold cases that will be solved in a thirty or sixty minute show. A mystery where clues have dried up.

Chasing Secrets by Lynette Eason follows the life of Haley Callaghan, a Elite Guardian  bodyguard, who is suddenly thrust in the middle of her own cold case. Twenty five years prior, her whole family was killed in West Ireland. But as a child she only remembers the "Mam" who raised her. Her life takes a turn, as danger lurks in every corner. Detective Steven Rothwell becomes her protector, as Haley tries to figure out where this danger is coming from.

A mystery. One that digs into Haley's past as she dodges bullets and battles street kings. Who is after her?

I enjoyed reading Ms. Eason's latest novel. It was pretty fast paced and kept my interest. If anything, it seems the romance angle was too similar to some of her other books. But the plot kept me going, until the end, when the real bad guys are revealed. I would give this a 4 1/2 rating.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher. All views expressed are my honest opinion.

All Decked Out

Once in a while, it's nice to set up on the deck.
Before night takes over, and there is a cooler breeze, hinting at rain to come.

A seaside theme fits into the Florida landscape.

We are all decked out, ready for hamburgers to come off the grill.

Pinkaholic

I love decorating my hutch. The hutch becomes a canvas to change for every season.

The pink dishes and glassware come out every Spring.

Every piece of china was acquired at Goodwill or thrifting. The Teapot however, I found at Cracker Barrel a couple of years ago. Now tell me, how could I pass this up??

I love the look of my Pink dishes and glassware. Every season brings change. So why not change the dishes too?
