The Back Porch

Ever since I started reading Susan's blog Between Naps on the Porch, I've been in love with her back porch.

Our porch is not as large as Susan's but I wanted to have a little place to escape to read, enjoy tea or lunch or just watch the birds as they come and go from the feeder.

My original thought was to find some pretty white wicker furniture. But when I found this set recently at Home Depot, I knew it would be perfect for our little nook.

A little note about these luncheon napkins. My step-mother gave these to me, along with a matching tablecloth. The tablecloth was used til it became thread bare and badly stained, but I never used the napkins. They were a wedding gift, so they are probably considered vintage by now ;-)

I've been picking up these Boopie glasses at Goodwill for $1.00

Thanks so much for stopping by. You can find me out here with my book and cup of green tea.

Hi, Wonderful setting-you are so lucky to have a porch that is big enough for chairs & a table. Our front porch is not that big and we don't have a back covered area. BTW, I love Susan's blog too-oh it is so delightful(but so is yours). I love the vintage napkins and they actually look antique.
Thanks for the inspiration, and I'd love to join you for tea.
Hugs, Noreen

Love it. I wish I had a porch--and hope to have one someday!
Vintage napkins? I'm vintage, so I know it will take 50 years for something to truly qualify as vintage--so your lovely napkins have a ways to go before they can say they are vintage--and I hope they get a lot of wonderful use in the meantime!
What is the official title for things less than 50?--Used, maybe!

I love your new set of porch furniture! I'm envious~ it is NOT porch weather here and probably won't be until the end of October :) Your napkins are so feminine and beautiful!

Oh, I'd be out there too. We live on our porch year round because some years ago we traded the screen walls for permanent doors and windows. This way we can air condition it as needed or open it when the weather allows. ;-)

How wonderful that you found room on your porch for new furniture -- and that the weather was cool enough to be outside. I was lucky this week, too -- and did an outdoor tablescape on the FRONT porch. Your napkins are lovely, and I for one am always happy to see vintage beauties used -- even if it means they eventually become threadbare like the tablecloth. As for stains, check out the linen cleaner on my sidebar. It works!

Your porch is wonderful and I especially love the table. I was so glad you mentioned the napkins, b/c I was going to have to ask about them. They are just sot sweet and you need to use them! Dianne

Love your new set. Although it's new, it has the look of vintage. You have made yourself a cozy little spot to hang out. That's how I am with my pergola. Love sitting under it and taking in the garden. Visiting from VTT. Would love you to link up to my party, Share Your Cup Thursday.

Quintessential comfort and charm! I like the color, too! It's cool that you were able to use & enjoy the tablecloth your stepmother gave you. Now you can enjoy the napkins in whatever way you see fit. That's really wonderful!
