If it's Thursday

................ it must be Thrifty!

A few of my recent finds ......

With the lid, and seal, in tact. Love the blue jars. Found this one at the Goodwill for $2. Most antique shops charge way more ;-)

My mother in love used to have glasses like these when I would go to her house for Sunday dinner with the family. She gave me what she had left. These were also found at the Goodwill, and they were in excellent shape. Ran them through the dishwasher with "Lemi-Shine" dishwashing cleaner. That stuff makes anything shine.

A cute little demitasse cup and saucer with very old looking Chinese words on the bottom.

Diana McClun and Laura Nownes, the icons of quilting, who also wrote Quilts, Quilts, and More Quilts!.

Isn't this a cool alphabet pattern??

I was so thrilled when I found this quilt rack at the Goodwill for $4.00. When I got it home, I realized it is pretty big! It's about 48" long!

Have you found any thrifty bargains this week??

Thanks for the Lemi-Shine tip. Love the Ball jar. I buy them whenever I see them, which isn't too often.

Hi there, Normally I go out on Fridays but didn't find anything last week. I had to laugh at the blue jar because I have some like that and I don't consider them antiques-of course I have a hard time considering myself a senior-lol. Love the glasses but I also remember when Grape Jelly came in glasses and my parents would save them.
Have a great evening.

I like your demitasse cup and saucer, just enough roses to make it beautiful. Not big enough for the coffee I want this morning...

Great finds! The quilting book is a keeper.

Just so you know, dishwasher detergent will gradually ruin vintage glassware beyond repair. Dishwashers will also make most vintage dishes before the seventies craze.

I always said that my mother had two dishwashers, and folks would be surprised she had two until I said they were my sister and I. :)

I've never heard of Lemi-Shine but I'm looking for some soon! I love your blue glasses. I have them on my look-for list. I've picked them up in amber and green. Blue is my favorite color so I must have them in blue, too, don't you think?

Your Ball Jar may be in the 1923 - 1933 era. I enlarged to see the way the word Ball was written.

Two dollars for the blue jar is a great price! I love them too and use them for a gazillion different things. Thanks for the "Lemi-Shine" tip. I have never used that but, I will give it a try for all my thrifted glasses. Thank you for joining TTF and I hope you have a fun week!
