I've seen some very beautiful vintage lamps. The older lamps were made with such care for style and design.
These two lamps were painted by my mother in love.
This first one is small and is more like a night lamp. I love the beautiful poppies she painted on the globe.
The second one was a long time gift in the making. She had promised to make a lamp for each of her children 25 years ago. As her health started to fail, it became more difficult for her to achieve her goal. I am very happy that she was able to finish this gaslight style lamp for me.
And this last lamp belonged to my grandmother.
I always admired this lamp that sat in my aunt's house. One day I noticed that one of the panes was missing. She told me that one of her grandsons had accidently hit the lamp and the glass broke out of it. I offered to have it repaired. She then told me that if I had it repaired I could keep it. WOW was I ever excited! I imagine this lamp was from the 1920's.

Oh, what amazing lamps. The last one is just amazing. What a great thing to have, glad you were able to have it repaired and got to keep it! Have a great VTT.
That last lamp is very similar to one I shared a long time ago for VTT. If it's really heavy it's made of lead that has been either gilded with brass or painted. The glass is called slag glass. It could be very expensive depending on the manufacturer and materials. I've seen slag glass lamps for over $1,000.00!!

Your mom did a wonderful job. Nice pieces of art from the heart!
Lovely lamps~ it's so wonderful that they were family pieces!
Those are all such beautiful lamps! But oh how sweet that your mother in law painted these for you. I've never known anyone to paint lamps before. So beautiful!
The painted lamps are beautiful, but the last one is my favourite style.
What beautiful lamps and what memories they hold! I'm glad your Mother was able to finish the one.
What beautiful painted lamps! Family treasures for many years to come!
The last one is also a wonderful family piece. Lucky you! I see lamps like this on the Antiques Road Show a lot.

Beautiful lamps! Your mother in love is very talented!
The Tiffany style lamp is just gorgeous!
What lovely lamps and such treasures. I wish I could find my talent, but think He missed me when passing it out.
Those are beautiful lamps but most importantly, they came from family members so they are extra special treasures!

Beautiful lamps. I especially love the first one that your Mother did. She was very talented. How lucky you are to have it.
These are the most beautiful lamps I've ever seen. The painted ones your sweet mother in love painted for you,are simply gorgeous. They're all just breathtaking... Happy VTT,have a lovely weekend..
I love the old-fashioned flower paintings.
What TREASURE! Those lamps are so beautiful! They sure don't make things like they used to.
Beautiful lamps. The painted one is my favorite. You also gave me an idea for posting the lamp my mom made for me. Thanks.
Wow, what a talent your mother in love had! I always feel like someone with that much talent should use it often. Did she paint any pictures, or only lamps? Maybe some china too? And that lamp from your aunt's house is just gorgeous, and it deserved to be repaired!
Happy VTT!

What wonderful lamps!
I love the ones your mother painted. She was very talented. The last one was a great gift too.
What special things these are - your mom painted these flowers! Is there any way to note this on the lamps themselves? Sadly, as these items pass through the generations, this information can get lost.
Oh my your Mother did a fabulous job on that lamp. Those flowers are so delicate and done so well. You are so fortunate to have it. I'm getting around to checking all the posts kinda late today. Have a great Friday!!
