The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY
February 1, 2010...

Outside my window.....
it's very cold

I am thinking..... how quickly the first month of the year has passed by already

I am thankful for... spending time and talking with my hubby

I am wearing..... warm casual clothes

I am remembering..... some of the projects that are on my "to do" list

I am going..... nowhere today

I am currently reading..... "50 Reasons Why Jesus Came to Die" by John Piper

I am hoping..... that the weather will warm up this week

On my mind..... a couple that was in a terrible car accident last week

Noticing that..... the dust bunnies have been out again

Pondering these words..... "Every word of God is pure;
He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him"

From the kitchen..... Chili

Around the house..... laundry, laundry, laundry

One of my favorite things..... is quilting

From my picture journal.....

Please stop by and visit the other Simple Woman's Daybook entries for today.

Hi Jocelyn! I've got an award for you over at my blog that I want to give you. No obligation, as I know some people don't care for that sort of thing. I just wanted you to know that I enjoy your blog!
Happy Monday!

Every conversation I've had so far this morning is about how quickly January has flown - I think it's taken everyone by surprise this year. Have a beautiful week!

I agree...January has flown by! It's cold here too and I would love to see the sun, but chili is perfect for a cold day!

Enjoy your week!

Your picture is wonderful. It's so clear. I'm not looking forward to warmer weather even though I know it's better on the children. I love the cold. We don't have very many days here in AR of real cold weather. We love the snow we got this week. Doylene

Time does seem to be passing by quickly. Ah, yes ~ the laundry. I am still new to quilting but look forward to starting a new project after February. Have a great day.

Great entry, your blog is beautiful! I do not follow a recipe for potato soup. I just cut up potatoes, barely cover with water and boil, mashing a little as they cook. Once they are as tender as I'd like, I add chopped onion, evaporated milk, shredded cheese and a little bit of butter. Let simmer and when ready to serve, add any additional toppings you'd like. My husband likes it with a little ham in it if I have it. I usually serve with home made cornbread. :) Let me know if you try the "recipe". Thanks for visiting me and have a blessed week!

I've never read anything by John Piper. I need to. I've heard he is very good. Love the looks of your blog. Colors are mellow and sweet. Your property looks great too. We've gone through the house building stages twice and it is fun.

Blessings,
Patricia

January did fly past and it seems more each year that what I was told as a child is true, 'time goes faster the older you get.' Chili sound super right now as it is COLD here, well by NM standards at least : ) and a warm pot of chili bubbling away is tempting! Have a great week!
