Cabin fever hits!

I know there are a lot of folks out there that are snowbound. They are stuck. Can't get out! With more snow in the horizon.

We've had several days of rain and more rain, and more rain in the forecast. I know that we really need the rain, but after a few days of rain and basically dreary sun-less days, I get cabin fever. I really can stay home and enjoy my home, IF the sun is shining. So yesterday and today, when the clouds parted, I headed out to the GoodWill. I made an amazing find yesterday, but I'll save that for another post. In light of my find yesterday, I made another sprint to the GW this morning to see if I might have missed something (which I knew I didn't because I scoured and scoured the floor for over an hour).

But today I found this darling bowl -

I don't think it is milk glass, but I've seen this before. It is shaped like it might belong to a mixing set. Nice size too. And only ONE dollar!

I also love to use these little dishes.

There were five of them, all taped together for, YES ONE dollar. And they all say Fire King on the bottom. Yipee!!!!

The last time I was in the GoodWill I found this lovely candlestick.

And today when I hopped over to the Hospice Thrift store (who was having their monthly 50% off sale) I found the mate -
What I really love about these candlesticks is the wider bottom. The second one actually still had the sticker with the marking on it -
24% Lead Crystal Made in the USA!

And as I am always on the lookout for vintage linens, these sheets fit the bill perfectly.

I am over the moon about the pink one. It did not have a price on it, so I put it back, then picked it up again, saw a worker and asked about the price. She went to the back, and I was thinking, yea, they are going to sock it to me. She came back and it was marked $1.99! Woo-Hoo, great for me!!! One of these days I am going to make a quilt with the vintage sheets I'm collecting and I'd LOVE to use the pink sheet for the backing :-)

So now there is more cloud cover, and the rain is coming down in buckets. But what a great morning for a little adventure hunting.

Have a great thrifting day!

Cabin fever here too - I went thrifting myself today, but only for pants for the boys! Although I did pick up a hoodie for myself. There was NOTHING else, not even sheets - and yes I LOVE that pink one too! You found some wonderful bargains, I especially love that bowl!

Yep, such a strange winter we are having. I just don't deal well with icky, dreary weather so I've had the "blahs" and cabin fever too. After dinner, when the rain had finally stopped, I decided to hop in the car and drive 8 blocks to Steinmart. Browsed around in there for about an hour and now I feel better. There's nothing like a little retail therapy to lift the spirits, is there? :)

I love those vintage sheets, and that gorgeous blue and white bowl! More snow here, with 25-35mph winds. Yuck. It's going to be a crafting day for me!
Have a great weekend!
