Vintage Thingie Thursday

About a month ago I went through an old suitcase that was buried in our closet. While digging through some of the old pictures I came across my baby book that must have been given to my parents when I was born.

It was fun looking at some of the old pictures and even seeing some familiar market names.

That's my baby picture in the bottom left hand corner :-)

I guess pictures that are half a century old would be considered a vintage thingie!

Hop over to Suzanne's Colorado Lady blog and visit the other Vintage Thingies...........

Enjoyed seeing a small part of your past. Those are things that you can treasure as well the generation that follows. I have mine as well. Maybe I will share it one day.

Isn't it fun to open a suitcase or box up that we haven't looked at in a while and go through the contents? My husband and I were cleaning out our basement last fall and both came across our high school memorabilia. Needless to say we spent more time looking through the stuff then cleaning.
I loved seeing all the photos and the baby book you found. You were a cute baby!

That book looks like a great read, with all of those ads! I wish I could see your baby picture better. It looks like there is some fabulous wallpaper behind you, and I bet that sofa was pretty cool too. I love furniture from the 50s and 60s!
Happy VTT!

Love old pictures!! My mother has all the really old ones but it is fun to look through them. People pose so differently and the pictures make us look more confident and friendly these days.

Old photographs may be vintage but they sure are fun, each and every one can tell a little bit of history.

Great treasures, don't ya love when ya find something like that? I am very fortunate to have a picture nut for a Mother. In fact we all must have gotten it from her. She made us each a picture album of us growing up and she must have a 100 albums of family pictures. I took old pics of my Dad and put on a post when he recently passed away and pics of his parents. The old ads are great too - I love looking at them. In fact I need to get my Evening In Paris ad framed so I can put it in my bathroom with my vintage perfume bottles, that ironically I showed today. LOL

I, for one, refuse to accept that things from my childhood, even pictures, are really "vintage". (I think I'm in a state of denial, lol!)

Vintage baby ads are always so sweet. Just adorable. Well I think anything over 20 is considered vintage these days. So at 40 I am getting close to antique myself. Thank you for stopping by my blog

This is the best vintage fun...your baby book. How thrilling is that. Your baby photos and all. I would love to see mine but I don't have one. Laughing. I wish I did. I guess my mom was kind of busy having six kids in 8 years, HA!
We are so blessed to have had the most wonderful parents ever. We didn't need a baby book to know we were loved. Still...a baby book is a real treasure. Thanks for sharing it today.

The Carters Magazine ad makes me think of an old Carters box that came with some baby clothes my Mom bought for me. It had a cute baby picture on the top. Apparently I loved the baby and carried the box lid around with me all the time. I think I still have it stored away... I need to go get it out and post a picture of it for next time.

I so enjoyed this post, it reminded me that I need to go through lots and lots of photos, and organize them, but most od all it reminds me of how important memories are.

I also read your last post and was so touched by it. What a beautiful family your MIL has and what a special son you have. I was so touched by it. Thank you for such an inspiring two post.
Blessings,
Sue
