Summertime. What does it bring to mind? Sunshine,
gardens, mowing lawns, corn on the cob, watermelon, beaches, vacations.
There's so much to enjoy in the summertime.
Years ago my in laws had a very tiny
trailer parked between Bryson City and Cherokee. The children always
enjoyed our time at the trailer. There was a creek that ran close by, so
the boys would bounce down in search of any kind of critter
or special rock. We would rent those great big tires and float down Deep
Creek! One year we rode the Smoky Mountain train. We'd watch the
rafters as they would bob down the rough Nantahalla River. Of course
we'd drive over to Dillard and Franklin to take in the shops. Such sweet
summer memories. Do you have any special summer memories?

What a view! You have precious memories to share. I love the Smokey Mountains, my granddaughter moved to Gatlinburg this pass March.
Your summer memories sounds wonderful, as a child we always went to the beach, I loved looking for sea shells!
As an adult we would take or grandkids to both the beach and the mountains, they really had fun making memories, and we documented with lots of photos.
Thank for sharing.

I've rafted Natahala-what a blast!
Every summer our family went to an amusement park. I loved the roller coaster. Picnics and fireworks along the Fox River, the Good Humor man, playing in the lawn sprinkler.
Thanks for the trip down a summer memory lane!
I just remember the freedom of no school, and riding my bike all over town, family vacations to see family and visit with cousins. Summer was the best.
What a great image. The towns you mention are familiar to me from when we drove back and forth from GA to IN many years ago. I'm sure they have changed a lot since then!
Summer to me is gardening and watching my flowers grow. It's also the time for a week-long holiday that Hubby always enjoys planning each year.
I enjoyed your post at 'My Corner of the World' this week!
My Corner of the World
It makes me sing country road, take me home!
I love it!
Summer memories for me are looking for:
seashells and rocks
walking barefoot in the sand
taking sunrise photographs
going somewhere I haven't been before.
Loved your post.
Summer creates the best memories. I think trying to capture some of those memories is why I like photography so much!
Nice scenery on the drive.
Worth a Thousand Words
Beautiful post.Loved the pic.
Fun sharing your memories! For me, as a kid it was the beach (on the Snake River) and long hot lazy days. As a parent, it would be camping with all four of our kids on the Oregon Coast or long trips when I had enough vacation (my husband taught, so he always had a month off). As retired great-grandparents for many years now it has been endless summer as we get away from Oregon during the cold gray winter months (it is beautiful here now though!!)
What a wonderful gift to give children....happy summer memories!
