Wendy Harper inherits a seaside cottage from her late grandparents. Wendy sees this as an opportunity to sell the valuable land and pay off medical debts. Her son, Jackson however, has it in his mind that this will be a new start for him and his single Mom. Jackson clings to his faith even as Wendy makes her plans to spruce up the cottage and hand it over to a realtor.
Things change when Wendy meets Caleb, as she begins to wonder if she could make her way financially in the small picturesque town.
Melody Carlson wrote a sweet story about the struggles a young single mother faces. I felt the story slowed at times, with Wendy's difficulty in communicating with her son. But this was a warm Christmas story, light hearted and easy to read.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher. All views expressed are my honest opinion.
