While we were browsing around, he picked up this saucer.........
and said..........
"if this had a cup it would be a real pretty set."
To which I replied.............
"you know I have an orphan cup at home that looks very similar."
The funny thing is, I bought the pretty teacup when we visited Racine Wisconsin several years ago. There was an antique shop in the basement of an old church. The lonely teacup was a bargain for $1.
I am happy to say that even though the Bavarian China cup and the Noritake saucer are not made by the same company, they make a great marriage and are happy companions.
Which I love, by the way.

They DO look good together. How nice that your husband found it.
They are beautiful and they look like they were made for each other :) Great finds and how sweet of your husband to help. Have a wonderful day!
That's a great pairing! It is usually called a marriage and I have a few in my collection from my Mom, when a precious treasure had an accident and only a half remained. Still holds a nice cuppa!

Hi Jocelyn,
The marriage of the teacup and saucer are splendid! How lovely your hubby found the saucer and one would think they were meant to be together. Very nice! Thank you for sharing with us and coming to tea. Have a beautiful day.
Blessings,

Ooooo! Mix and matchy and you did a great job! Hooray for hubby to have such keen eyes. Blessings to you and do enjoy a cuppa tea in that lovely new cup and saucer set - orphans brought together. Sounds like a love story to me.
Joy!

They are very pretty. I love to mix and match, it's much more interesting than just buying a pretty cup/saucer combo.
So delightful to shop with your hubby - great find! They do go beautifully together! I appreciate you sharing your lovely post with A Return to Loveliness,
Kathy
