Casting all your cares upon him; for he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7
It is a happy way of soothing sorrow when we feel "He cares for me." Come, cast your burden upon your Lord. You are staggering beneath a weight that your Father would not feel. What seems to you a crushing burden would be to Him but as dust. Be patient, God has not passed you over in His providence. He who is the feeder of sparrows will also furnish you with what you need. Do not sit down in despair; hope on, hope ever. There is One who cares for you. His eye is fixed on you, His heart beats with pity for your woe, and His hand omnipotent will bring you the needed help. He will bind up your wounds and heal your broken heart. Do not doubt His grace because of your tribulation, but believe that He loves you as much in seasons of trouble as in times of happiness. What a serene and quiet life might you lead if you would leave providing to the God of providence! If God cares for you, why should you care too? Can you trust Him for your soul and not for your body? He has never refused to bear your burdens; He has never fainted under their weight. Come then! Cease fretting, and leave all your concerns in the hand of a gracious God.

Poignant, comforting and hopeful...
Such insights are needed in our times.
Words well-selected.
So thankful that we have a gracious caring God! Beautiful post.
Thank you for sharing this quote from such a great man. It's a good message for all of us.

Can you imagine the heart of God feeling pity at our pain? So undeserved yet so freely given. Spurgeon never ceases to encourage me. I'm so thankful you posted this today.
really comforting to know that He's there...and totally cares. To not have to walk alone....it's the best
We never walk alone do we...and He IS there for both our soul and our body. Wonderful reminder and such a comfort....God's Word says all we need to hear!
