Outdoor Wednesday

Last year we took a trip to North Carolina. We enjoyed some of the sights from a very old city - New Bern.

Founded in 1710 at the confluence of the Trent and Neuse rivers, New Bern was settled by Swiss and German adventurers led by Baron Christopher de Graffenried from Bern, Switzerland. New Bern is the second oldest town in the state.

It is also the birthplace of Pepsi-Cola!

Please join me at Outdoor Wednesday.

I dearly love going to older towns. They have so much more history and character about them. I would have enjoyed going with you on this trip.

Small world time....I grew up in Havelock NC about 20 miles east of New Bern. Across the street from the Pepsi store is an old church...that was my church and behind the church was First Citizens Bank and that's where I worked until I married my wonderful husband and he swept me of my feet and let me open a quilt shop in Virginia.
