Vintage Thingie Thursday

My Mom loved to crochet. She made so many beautiful things. I am so blessed to have many of them to use around the house.

I always loved the pineapple stitching. Pineapple is a sign of Welcome!

I really love this pink dresser skirt. It's a lovely design and in perfect condition.

My Mom has been gone for many years, but it's such a treasure to display some of her beautiful hand work.

I am trying to get back into working with the simple thread for dollies but it is a challenge for old eyes. I loved your display.

To hold in your hands the things that she so lovingly made with her hands is a priceless treasure. It is almost as if she's here with you now. At least that's how it is for me when I hold my grandmother's and aunt's creations. My mom also made some beautiful cross stitched pieces.

I love any crochet work. I am like you a have so much that I have inherited from various family members. I have a large tablecloth in the pineapple pattern. That pattern used to be a favorite.

What wonderful crochet pieces. I recently found a pattern online for a baby cap and have started trying to reteach myself crochet. I think I originally learned in grade school. It has been a struggle, so work like this is really appreciated and admired. Happy

Thanks for sharing your mom's crochet work. The pineapple pattern was my mom's favorite and I have many of the doilies and a table cloth she made in that pattern. She also made dresser scarves in filet crochet and other motifs. Two of her sisters did not have children to pass their work on to so I have pieces that they made as well. I wish I could work with thread, but my crocheting is limited to yarn.
