Taylor Smith Taylor

Years ago I stopped at an Estate Sale in a very old house in a very old neighborhood. It was the first time I ever saw this Rooster pattern.

They had the complete set of dishes and serving pieces. And OH I wanted those dishes. But the price was $55. At that time I did not have $55 to buy dishes. I was looking for 25c and 50c items. But I never forgot those Rooster dishes.

Last week while I was at the Goodwill, I spied these few pieces. Well actually they had others, but they were chipped up, so I didn't think I needed chipped plates. But I did acquire 2 plates and this very cute sugar and creamer set.

Maybe one day I will come across more pieces.

  4. One day all the "chicken" dishes well appear again. My sister has a set of dishes with roosters, but not this one.

  5. What a neat pattern. Never seen that one before. I used to have (still have a few pieces left) of a yellow and blue rooster on white set of dishes. I love those dishes. Wish I could find some to replace pieces broken, cracked and chipped. They served me a good 20-25 + years for three meals a day.

I am fortunate to have many extra pieces. I have been planning to do a tablescape with them. When I do, I will email you.
Good luck in your search. I know you will enjoy each piece of the neat pattern.

  15. What a sweet pattern. Looks... what? Late 1950's? Early 1960's? So cute! I love the vignette you put together in the tray on the counter with the large white hen!

  18. Isn't it great when the Lord gives you these little treats. He never forgets those things that capture our hearts in beauty. I never did roosters, but when I took Ed to Hobby Lobby for the first time, HE picked out a rooster saying he always likes a kitchen with one in it. After all these years - ha! I guess that's what Hobby Lobby does to a guy - brings out his inner interior decorator!
    Joy!
