Hubby and I took a day trip to Mount Dora.
It was beastly hot so we didn't walk around very long.
Just enough to see a few places.
It has changed greatly since the last time I was there, many years ago. It is mostly restaurants and cafes. No more little shops from local artists. Which was a little disappointing. Everything changes over time.
small local establishments being pushed out more and more...
ReplyDeleteEverything does change, sometimes sadly, but your photos are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI always love the little shops in any location I visit. The inflation and post pandemic economy have been a heck.
ReplyDeleteThe clouds look great and the lighthouse mural is cool.
ReplyDeleteI've had that happen - go back to place I really liked and it's very different. Life is change but sometimes we want to hold on to parts of the past.
ReplyDeleteI love the sky, love the mural. Small local shops fight to stay alive these days.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos and fun day trip for you and 'us.' ~

Pretty sky shot. Sorry to hear about the changes. I prefer small local shops.
ReplyDeleteI was in Mt. Dora once and one of the things I enjoyed was the art vibe. Too bad knowing it has changed - I really liked it. But change is part of life.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sky shot. It's the small local shops that make a place attractive but change happens all the time.
ReplyDeleteI visited Mt Dora in 2019, and thought it had quite a few artsy stores. Perhaps there were more before. I was impressed with the Van Gogh house.
ReplyDeleteVan Gogh House in Mount Dora, Florida
I have been to Mt. Dora every time we go to Florida. I loved all the little shops. My husband and I would always pick a different restaurant to eat before travelling on to our destination Orange Park. We even took the boat ride. Added were Christmas decorations to set the mood to enjoy being a tourist there. So sad, it has changed. Life goes on. It is what it is.
