took me to the Library. We were living in a very big city at the
time. We climbed the stairs and entered into a place
that was magic to me. I remember there was a low shelf next
to the window with lots of children's books. I must have been
about 4 years old, because I was not yet in school. I sat by
the window and looked through many books. When we left,
I am sure we took a few books home with us. We went
back to that library many times, as I still remember checking
out books from that library for elementary school.
Books have always held a fascination to me. They are your
friends when you are lonely, sick, or when you just want to
travel to a different place or time. The Library is also a great
resource for Quilting books. I have a very healthy collection
of quilting books in my own library, but sometimes, I just
enjoy looking at other books for ideas. I check out quilting books
and keep them for the maximum time allowed!
What fun to browse through these books and enjoy the amazing
resource the Library affords.
Now that Summer is gone, the time draws near to grab a quilt,
a cup of hot tea or hot chocolate, snuggle into a big old chair and
get lost in a book.
Have you checked what your local Library has available?? You
might be pleasantly surprised.

I love books - my son told me someday he's going to buy me a library to live in. *G* Our library has wonderful quilt books too, I have four or five checked out right now - love them!
I could have written your post! My memories are so wonderful I can almost remember the way the library smelled as the door opened. Thanks for bringing back a long ago memory.

You're so right to be taking advantage of the library. In this techno age we seem to forget about it.
Thanks for being a part of Seasonal Sundays.

My father was a university professor of Engineering, and I grew up thinking that the huge and magnificent campus library was my personal place to read, study, and do research. That library is the main reason that I chose to stay home for my college experience. I can stiil smell the aroma of ancient volumes. My degree is in English...no surprise. Cherry Kay

You are in good company I think. I too love a visit to the Library. Just looking at all the books lining the shelves...millions of stories not yet told. Yum! My bookcase at home is overflowing and I love it that way!
