Words to Live By

One evening this week, my dear hubby talked with me about a family situation. One that we were aware of. But my old sin-nature self reacted to my dear hubbys request. He has a heart of gold and is always eager to help someone in need.

After we talked I realized that I had judged the situation harshly. And the Lord admonished me as I read my evening devotions.

"The wicked borrows and does not pay back
But the righteous is gracious and gives.
For those blessed by Him will inherit the land
But those cursed by Him will be cut off

The steps of a man are established by the Lord
And He delights in his way
When he falls he shall not be hurled headlong
Because the Lord is the One who holds his hand
I have been young and now I am old
Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken
or his descendants begging bread
All day long he is gracious and lends
And his descendants are a blessing."

Psalm 37 21-26

I had to humbly apologize to the Lord. I do not want to leave my sticky fingerprints on the Lord's work.

God bless and go in peace.

I always felt that if God shown me a need, I should respond the best I can. I don't always have the means but sometimes a phone call, a prayer or just a shoulder to cry on is more than nothing at all. God truly blesses those who bless others. Bless you and your husband for helping others.

I especially join in your personal prayer about leaving my sticky fingerprints on God's work. I have to remember that one, He knows I am really guilty of that one. Thanks for the great post. God bless, Dr. Bobbi

I react before I think sometimes and then I'm embarrassed even if I'm by myself because the Lord knows I was wrong.
God Bless,
Ginger

One time when I was taken advantage of my pastor told me, "We're not responsible for the response -- we're responsible to respond to the need." I've had to remind myself of that a time or two...three...

Blessings,
Pamela
